Carla Gillespie est née et a grandi à Nice, vit à Molenbeek, a des racines écossaises et grecques et travaille comme coordinatrice d'Agile, une organisation culturelle pour la jeunesse, affiliée à Bruxelles Laïque. Elle est venue à Bruxelles en tant qu'étudiante Erasmus en théâtre et y est restée. Elle aime la mentalité bruxelloise et son quartier de Molenbeek.
